Based in the Cotswolds, Shani Wills is an artisan cake baker, creating bespoke designs and outstanding flavours for her clients out of her Nailsworth cake studio. Shani has always loved to bake and has a background in art and design; a happy combination for making bespoke edible art for a special occasion. She is inspired by hearing her clients’ celebration stories and loves nothing better than making something tailored to an individual. Being eco conscious is very important to Shani and the wedding and celebration specialists that she collaborates with. She is doing her best to source her ingredients as locally, organically and ethically produced as possible. Eggs come from very happy free range hens who only live a few miles from the bakery, flour from the local, organic mill, dairy products are literally down the road and sugar is from a fair trade supplier. have depends on the number of people you want to serve. Here’s an example of how it could work: The couple wants to feed 120 guests. Some of their options are: an eight inch round, decorated cake, which sits as the centre piece of their dessert table. This would feed 40, and they could have cutting cake (undecorated) in the kitchen to add the extra 80 portions they need. a three tier, round cake of six, eight and ten inches, which would feed all 120 guests. It could also be three square tiers of slightly smaller sizes. Depending on whether you plan to serve your cake as the dessert course, or as finger slices with a glass of champagne, makes a difference to the slice size and therefore how many portions you can cut. This would be discussed in your consultation, so don’t panic if you are not sure what you need. The remaining balance, by cash/cheque/bank transfer, this will need to be banked a minimum of six months prior to delivery in order for funds to clear and the date to be booked. If ordering later than six months in advance, the full amount is payable in advance. Celebration cakes A £50 or 10% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your order at least one month before the delivery date(the amount will depend on the size and complexity of the cake). The remaining balance, by cash/cheque/bank transfer, this will need to be banked a minimum of seven days prior to collection/delivery in order for funds to clear. Delivery We are based in Stroud and delivery is charged at 50p a mile if the delivery address is outside the 15 road miles free delivery radius. There is a set up fee of £25 for wedding cakes and larger celebration cakes. If you would like a quote for delivery, simply send us your delivery postcode. We do not recommend collecting larger or tiered cakes yourself as this may involve assembly by you at the venue. If you are collecting, we will ask you to sign for the cake as seen and take no responsibility for any damage enroute to the venue or there after.
